The Strange Spotted Lake of Canada

Located in British Columbia,  the Spotted Lake is one of the strangest geological features in Canada. It is also known to First Nations people as Kliluk. It looks like something you would see in a movie about outer space. The tiny body of water is rich is a variety of minerals, containing calcium and sodium, and also some titanium. During the hot summer months, the water evaporates and leaves all this components in what seems like a swamp-like muddle with circular figures.

It is thought to have some traditional medicinal qualities by the Okanagan Syilx people. It is a favorite stopover spot (no pun intended) for many road-trippers, as it is right by Highway 3 and is really close to the border of Washington state in the United States.
