Gist: This little Malaysian city is just across the straits from Singapore and serves as the welcoming point for tourists taking a trip out of the Singaporean city limits. Although it has only been declared a city in 1994, it has managed to grow in population and become somewhat of an industrial hub in the region. Perfect for a day trip!
